Our commitment to sustainability
For us sustainability is not just a buzzword - we put sustainability into practice in our day-to-day lives. This concerns in particular our mobility, our choice of offices and charitable commitment to training young people in the field of sustainability.
Our commitment to the first large children's hospice in the greater Zurich area:
Züst Engineering AG directly and indirectly supports the first large ‘children's hospice’ in the greater Zurich area. It is very important to Züst Engineering AG to support families who have a child with a life-limiting illness, i.e. a child who is dependent on paediatric palliative care. There are currently 10,000 children in Switzerland who will not reach the age of 18. Rainer Züst also ran 1,600 kilometres from Seegräben to Cornwall (UK) with his partner and two dogs in spring 2024 for two children's hospices, one in Cornwall and the other in Fällanden. Thanks to this charity run, Rainer Züst, Managing Director of Züst Engineering AG, was able to finance the lift (bed lift) in the new children's hospice in Fällanden thanks to many large and small donations totalling CHF 100,000.00.

We currently implement the following measures:
- We work on assignments / mandates, whose aim it is to improve sustainability.
- We travel by public transport; all of our staff hold a Swiss GA travel card
- We consciously avoid car journeys; if we have to use a car we drive one with A or B efficiency rating whenever possible.
- We avoid flying whenever possible; if we do need to travel by plane we offset our CO2 emissions
- Our offices are in a Plus Energy House equipped with geothermal energy / heat pump, solar collectors (warm water) and photovoltaic (electricity).
- We consciously forego expensive promotional gifts or corporate dinners / business lunches. We donate a sustainable portion of the profits to the ‘Flamingo Children's Hospice’ in Fällanden.
